Farmington PTA Scholarship:   Go to website and fill out application - Searchable NH scholarship database maintained by the Center for College Planning. The New Hampshire Charitable Foundation annually provides $5 million in private scholarship funds to New Hampshire students. - Fastweb offers a free national scholarship database which contains information about 1.3 million scholarships worth over $3 billion. - A database to connect students with appropriate scholarships. Millions of dollars available to New Hampshire students. - Articles for students regarding various college questions. - Every month Chegg gives away $1,000 to a high school student who best answers their monthly prompt. - Scholarship opportunities from insurance companies and organizations that could provide an excellent opportunity for high school students. These scholarships provide students with tens of thousands of dollars for college each year! - Tuition Break enable eligible students to pay lower tuition when they attend out-of-state New England public colleges and universities. - Lists and offers contact and scholarship information for virtually all post-secondary schools, colleges, and universities in your state. UNH Hamel's Scholar Program -  Meet the requirements for an invitation to the University Honors Program: NH resident, rank in the top 10% of your class (or equivalent level for unranked schools as determined by GPA and/or information on the school profile), demonstrate a challenging college preparatory curriculum, achieve standardized tests scores of 1970+ SAT /29+ ACT composite, demonstrate meaningful involvement in your school or broader community and a strong interest in and capacity for sustained community engagement as evidenced through recommendations, essays and school and community involvements. In State Angels- THERE IS A FEE FOR THIS SERVICE. A resource with information and solutions designed to help students explore and earn in-state tuition in states and universities across the country. What makes a good candidate for in-state? The process favors those who are more mature and independent than average. Top factors that contribute to success: a sincere intention to remain indefinitely in a new state after college, being financially responsible and at least partly self-supporting with student loans or otherwise, willingness to work at least a little bit while in school, openness to potentially going to school less than full-time for at least a year. On our site, you will find scholarships guaranteed by nearly 100 colleges to students who meet the individual listed criteria for each. No essays, projects, recommendations or other secondary criteria are required. And, in almost all cases, there are no limits to the number of scholarships awarded.

**Scholarships & Fee Applications Available to NH Scholars 
Institutions are providing merit-based scholarships to students who are on track to graduate with the distinction of a NH Scholar:

Colby-Sawyer College:  Offers renewable merit scholarships ranging from $15,000 to$28,000.  NH Scholars students may be eligible.  Apply for admission online for free at select 'fee waiver' option.

Franklin Pierce University:  Renewable merit scholarships ranging from $15,000 to full tuition scholarships annually for accepted NH Scholars, STEM or ARTS students.  Additionally, NH Scholars majoring in Biology or Health Sciences may be eligible for an additional $3,500 Health Sciences Scholarship.  Apply for admission online for free at select 'fee waiver' option or online at

Granite State College:  Apply for admission online for free at select 'fee waiver' option.

Keene State College: Offers NH Scholars graduates who meet the merit scholarship requirements, renewable awards of $1,000 - $5,000 annually.   Students are considered for merit scholarships at the time of application review and no additional application is required.  Notification of awards is included in your acceptance letter.  Apply for admission online for free at

MA College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences:  Apply for admission online for free at select 'fee waiver' option.

New England College:  Offers NH Scholars renewable merit scholarships ranging from $23,000- $32,000 for accepted NH Scholars.  For NH STEM or ART Scholars, accepted students qualify for a renewable $20,000 Presidential merit aid award.  Apply for admission online for free at either or select 'fee waiver' option.

Institute of Art & Design at New England College:  Candidates for the NH Scholars ARTS Pathway will be offered renewable merit scholarships ranging from $23,000 - $32,000 annually upon acceptance into the BFA program.  For a fee waiver, please email Ashley Battle [email protected] prior to applying.

Plymouth State University:  Offers NH Scholars renewable merit scholarships ranging from $1,000 - $6,000 annually, for accepted NH Scholars STEM or ARTS students.  Additionally, students accepted into a STEM field at PSU are eligible for an additional annual $1,000 STEM award.  The value of awards for these students range from up to $12,000-$26,000 total over four years.  Apply for admission online for free at choose "Panther Application" when applying.

Rivier University:  Offers NH Scholars renewable merit scholarships up to $20,000 for accepted NH Scholars.  Additionally students within the Greater Nashua area are encouraged to apply for the Tamposi Scholarship which awards four renewable scholarships yearly ranging from $2,500 - $5,000.  Apply for admission online for free at or select 'fee waiver' option.

Saint Anselm College:  Offers renewable merit scholarships ranging from $12,000 - $24, 000.  NH Scholars students may be eligible.  Application fee waivers will be distributed to the high schools through the NH Scholars office.  Students applying at can select 'fee waiver' option and mail their waiver to SAC separately.

Southern New Hampshire University:  At this time, SNHU is reviewing its merit-based scholarship structure.  They have currently discontinued the merit-based scholarship structure of the past and will have a new structure set up later this fall.  More information to come.  Apply for admission online for free at   Select "YES" when asked if you have an SNHU -specific fee waiver.

University of New Hampshire:  Offers qualified NH Scholars graduates who meet institutional merit scholarship and admission requirements, renewable merit scholarships valued at $3,000 - $9,000 per year.  Students are considered for merit scholarships at the point of acceptance; no additional scholarship application is required.  Notification of eligibility is shared in a student's letter of acceptance to UNH.  Scholarship criteria is listed on the following webpage: https://admissions.

Each New Hampshire Community College:  Offers NH Scholars twelve (12) $500 merit awards to accepted NH Scholars (guidance should communicate with local admission director to determine how many are available).  Awards are not renewable.

Recognizing New Hampshire Scholars:
After confirming eligibility with their school counselor, students are encouraged to identify themselves as New Hampshire Scholars during the fall of their senior year.  Students should also highlight the NH Scholars achievement on their college applications and follow up with the college admissions office to ensure colleges are aware of this honor.  Additionally, high schools are encouraged to add NH Scholars to a student's transcript.  All New Hampshire institutions receive the full roster of NH Scholars students in early spring of their senior year.

April Deadlines

HRCU Annual Scholarship program for seniors! Go to for eligibility requirements and to download an application.  Deadline April 20, 2023. - The Student-View Scholarship Program is offering $11,000 worth of scholarships to high school seniors who plan to attend a four-year college, community college or career school. No minimum SAT/ACT score or GPA, no essay required, no lengthy application forms, and no application fees. 
The New Hampshire Charitable Foundations Scholarship Source is a single on-line application form that automatically matches students to scholarship opportunities for which they qualify. The Foundation will award $5 million to New Hampshire students. You are eligible if you plan to pursue a 2 or 4 year degree or certificate.

Jack and Hannah McCarthy Scholarship Opportunity  -  

Manning & Zimmerman Scholarship- - - Two $1000 scholarships will be awarded to New Hampshire students that submit either a video or essay on "distracted driving".   These students can be planning on attending  in any type of post-secondary education, including vocational/technical schools, in-state or out-of-state.  The scholarship will be awarded to those students who best address the question.   Go to the website for instructions. 

The Strafford County Board of REALTORSÒ will offer three scholarships to local high school students, each in the amount of $2,000.00.   This is our way, as REALTORSÒ, to thank the Strafford County Community within which we work and live, by helping our next generation of young citizens get a head start toward their future.  This application needs to be filled out and returned in its entirety, along with:

  1. A one page essay, typed, explaining why you are going to further your education; what career goals you have considered; and why you think you deserve this award.
  2. A copy of your high school transcripts.
  3. A copy of your college, tech, or trade school Acceptance Letter.
  4. Statement that they are a resident of Strafford County, attend a school in Strafford County, or that a parent is a member of the Strafford County Board of REALTORS®, or affiliate member.
  5. Written recommendation from a current teacher on behalf of the student.

May Deadlines

The McDonough Foundation is a volunteer organization whose sole mission is to provide scholarships for up to four years to young men and women, employed at New Hampshire golf courses, who are attending colleges and universities of their choice for undergraduate studies.  Notes: Anyone working at a golf club for a minimum of 2 seasons is eligible to apply:  All required materials must be received

Farmington Historical Society Award

The Farmington Historical Society Awards a Scholarship to a graduating Farmington High School senior, who has demonstrated an appreciation and interest for history. The awardee must be attending an institution of higher education and must either be pursuing a degree in history or the social studies, elementary education, or has previously demonstrated previous civic engagement activities that support and promote the preservation of Farmington history. The scholarship, a minimum of $500, is awarded after demonstrating successful completion of the first semester studies and an intent to continue another semester of those studies. For more information and application, visit

Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship:
Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship Program grants money to students from New England pursuing their first bachelor's degree. The award is based on financial need and merit, with a strong focus on applicant involvement with community service. The intent of this award is to enable students to attend college without accumulating burdensome debt. Awards from the Phillips Scholarship range from $3,000 to as high as $15,000 in a few cases. In general, the average award each year is in the $6,000 to $8,000 range. Awards are renewable for four years and both high school seniors and college students can apply.

NH Police Association Pipes & Drums Scholarship -

Fisher Cats Scholar-Athlete Scholarships- Candidates must be planning to enroll in a four-year degree program or planning to attend a local community college or technical school in the fall. Awards will be based on: Academic performance, Athletic achievement & Citizenship. There will be ten 10 scholarships, each in the amount of $2,500, that will be awarded to New Hampshire students. Abraham Burtman Charity Trust Scholarships are awarded to NH residents who are enrolled full time in undergraduate study and demonstrate financial need. Approximately 35 scholarships will be awarded and competition is from the applicant pool only. SEE GUIDANCE FOR AN APPLICATION. All applications must be received by MAY 6th.

June Deadlines

The Mental Illness Awareness and Suicide Prevention (MIASP) organization is offering a scholarship.  The scholarship application and requirements will be available online.  The application deadline is June 1,  so we can award the recipient in time for the 2023-2024 college year.

This is the 5th year we are awarding this scholarship for We are offering high school seniors the opportunity to win a $1,000 scholarship. This will be awarded to students that are interested in pursuing an animation career path at an accredited post-secondary school or college. Our website will award a $1,000 scholarship to an aspiring nurse who best demonstrates: a track record of academic excellence, particularly in science and mathematics and a passion for the nursing profession and the overall field of healthcare.
