In State Angels- THERE IS A FEE FOR THIS SERVICE. A resource with information and solutions designed to help students explore and earn in-state tuition in states and universities across the country. What makes a good candidate for in-state? The process favors those who are more mature and independent than average. Top factors that contribute to success: a sincere intention to remain indefinitely in a new state after college, being financially responsible and at least partly self-supporting with student loans or otherwise, willingness to work at least a little bit while in school, openness to potentially going to school less than full-time for at least a year.

Plymouth State University: Offers NH Scholars renewable merit scholarships ranging from $1,000 - $6,000 annually, for accepted NH Scholars STEM or ARTS students. Additionally, students accepted into a STEM field at PSU are eligible for an additional annual $1,000 STEM award. Rivier University: Offers NH Scholars renewable merit scholarships up to $20,000 for accepted NH Scholars. Saint Anselm College: Offers renewable merit scholarships ranging from $12,000 - $24, 000. NH Scholars students may be eligible. Application fee waivers will be distributed to the high schools through the NH Scholars office. Students applying at

Southern New Hampshire University: At this time, SNHU is reviewing its merit-based scholarship structure. They have currently discontinued the merit-based scholarship structure of the past and will have a new structure set up later this fall. More information to come. University of New Hampshire: Offers qualified NH Scholars graduates who meet institutional merit scholarship and admission requirements, renewable merit scholarships valued at $3,000 - $9,000 per year. Students are considered for merit scholarships at the point of acceptance; no additional scholarship application is required. Notification of eligibility is shared in a student's letter of acceptance to UNH. Scholarship criteria is listed on the following webpage:

New Hampshire Community College: Offers NH Scholars twelve (12) $500 merit awards to accepted NH Scholars (guidance should communicate with local admission director to determine how many are available). Awards are not renewable.
Recognizing New Hampshire Scholars:
After confirming eligibility with their school counselor, students are encouraged to identify themselves as New Hampshire Scholars during the fall of their senior year. Students should also highlight the NH Scholars achievement on their college applications and follow up with the college admissions office to ensure colleges are aware of this honor. Additionally, high schools are encouraged to add NH Scholars to a student's transcript. All New Hampshire institutions receive the full roster of NH Scholars students in early spring of their senior year.

Manning & Zimmerman Scholarship-

The Strafford County Board of REALTORSÒ will offer three scholarships to local high school students, each in the amount of $2,000.00. This is our way, as REALTORSÒ, to thank the Strafford County Community within which we work and live, by helping our next generation of young citizens get a head start toward their future. This application needs to be filled out and returned in its entirety, along with:
- A one page essay, typed, explaining why you are going to further your education; what career goals you have considered; and why you think you deserve this award.
- A copy of your high school transcripts.
- A copy of your college, tech, or trade school Acceptance Letter.
- Statement that they are a resident of Strafford County, attend a school in Strafford County, or that a parent is a member of the Strafford County Board of REALTORS®, or affiliate member.
- Written recommendation from a current teacher on behalf of the student.

The McDonough Foundation is a volunteer organization whose sole mission is to provide scholarships for up to four years to young men and women, employed at New Hampshire golf courses, who are attending colleges and universities of their choice for undergraduate studies. Farmington Historical Society Award
The Farmington Historical Society Awards a Scholarship to a graduating Farmington High School senior, who has demonstrated an appreciation and interest for history. The awardee must be attending an institution of higher education and must either be pursuing a degree in history or the social studies, elementary education, or has previously demonstrated previous civic engagement activities that support and promote the preservation of Farmington history. The scholarship, a minimum of $500, is awarded after demonstrating successful completion of the first semester studies and an intent to continue another semester of those studies. Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship:
Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship Program grants money to students from New England pursuing their first bachelor's degree. The award is based on financial need and merit, with a strong focus on applicant involvement with community service. The intent of this award is to enable students to attend college without accumulating burdensome debt. Awards from the Phillips Scholarship range from $3,000 to as high as $15,000 in a few cases. In general, the average award each year is in the $6,000 to $8,000 range. Awards are renewable for four years and both high school seniors and college students can apply. Fisher Cats Scholar-Athlete Scholarships- Candidates must be planning to enroll in a four-year degree program or planning to attend a local community college or technical school in the fall. Awards will be based on: Academic performance, Athletic achievement & Citizenship. There will be ten 10 scholarships, each in the amount of $2,500, that will be awarded to New Hampshire students. Abraham Burtman Charity Trust Scholarships are awarded to NH residents who are enrolled full time in undergraduate study and demonstrate financial need. Approximately 35 scholarships will be awarded and competition is from the applicant pool only. SEE GUIDANCE FOR AN APPLICATION. All applications must be received by MAY 6th.
